Yeah, yeah, still a couple of posts behind. Key details: People die, people party, Richard (or whatever he’s called now) ends up next to barnyard animals, Ninga tries to help some orphans, Marcus becomes a priest, Lovejoy almost gets the girl. And now they’re sending a message in a bottle to a Death. Geez.

Well well well. Richard started seeing things, which later proved to be quite real when attacked with his Void skills. Marcus got into political scene, and with Lovejoy they got into alcohol-trafficking. And Ninga went on a journey into the woods to recapture a portion of her past she had forgotten. This is just a placeholder for the players to add their commentary until I get #16 and #17 (and hopefully then #18) written ![]()

Return to school. A placeholder for players to post comments to. And yes, illu, I know you’ve been in the shadow lately. That is about to change, as you might have realized when you rolled that botch.

Dungeon Crawl!
It was an action-filled game. And began like any one of those should: “It hits you!” The “it” in this case being an invisible assailant and “you” being Ninga. It’s kinda hard to describe a dungeon crawl in the typical CoW rapport type, so I won’t bother with the damn chronological details of exploring LeGaulle’s tower.
I’ll get back to this in a while…

A traveling game, for a change. There were three stories, naturally.
Next time, Dungeon Crawl!

Ok. This was a damn short game, my apologies for that. Especially to those who missed most of it. But I rather play a short game than go into the next bit unprepared. I should have guessed you want to leave the school ASAP when you get the death-of-(whatever-Mauge’s-character-will-be-called) sorted out, but I didn’t. Probably the best route to next game might be two separate smaller pre-games, one with Larsa and Aura, one with the rest of the group, as there is a time lag of about a week going on.
Anyways to the highlights of today’s game:
The game was short because frankly I wasn’t prepared that the PC’s would leave the school as soon as they had regrouped. And I didn’t want to go to the travel part unplanned.

Hmm…
13 is an unlucky number, and for the campaign, it really set another crisis point. Not only a huge group of major NPCs (the void mages, barring PCs and Ian Lee) gone, but one (Or two? What happened to Lovejoy?) player character’s life is in jeopardy. I know I can’t remember everything, but here’s some highlights:
The game will continue next week.
As an epilogue, we look into Mike’s office. Alex walks in and indicates that it’s time to go. Mike nods. Then they are both gone.
I probably forgot many important details. So much happened in the game… I hope I’ll remember to add them later.

Ok. Chapter II rolls forward like a train (on a collision course with another, I can only imagine). As I’ve noted before, Chapter I (first 10 or so game sessions) was more or less Character Creation, and the actual storyline begins now with Chapter II.
To recap the important points – André LeGaulle is a cold-hearted Fieon-born bastard, a heretic (a puritan - believing that Light and Dark shouldn’t be separated) and pretty much the single most powerful Void Mage who has ever existed. He’s responsible for fucking up Ninga’s youth and has literally kept Lovejoy as a slave when he was younger. After the slavedom, LeGaulle tore out Lovejoy’s still-beating heart as an insurance the kid would never betray him. LeGaulle had also ordered Lovejoy to kill a person called ”Roland Petitjean”, who shares the name with one of the Player Characters. His ties to Marcus were a bit more indirect – LeGaulle and Iiain, Marcus’ betrothed had been working together to liberate the Bay’s End colony from the mainland rule.
This means that his arrival was by no account a trivial thing to the player characters. His herald, Alex had appeared previously and warned/informed the troupe that his master would be arriving ”tomorrow.” Tomorrow being today, from the standpoint of tonight’s game.

Well, it took me two weeks to get writing this, and I’ll keep it sort of short even now. Game #11 was the first session of Chapter II or Segment II or whatever you want to call it. It was middle of autumn, the Fieon troops had become a standard feature at the College area. Some of the more prominent things that happened during the game:
Ninga does some experiments with cobs and her bones, after Kristoff explains to her that some animals, generally associated with death, seem to enjoy the presence of Void magic. The animals mentioned are some butterflies, cobs and squirrels.
Lovejoy and Marcus got into some slight arguments and mindfarked by a group of Fieon soldiers and their Paladin superior. Fixed things with a bit of help from Mike. Got a ”we’re gonna get ya” looks from the Fieon soldiers.
It was a more restless game than typical ones. And it was a bit hard to get things into the mold they were supposed to be in after such a long time-jump (game #9 was set months before #11). But all in all, quite a nice game.
